HoppingBooks

Welcome to HoppingBooks

Read it. Enjoy it. Pass it on.

HoppingBooks keeps books moving from shelf to shelf, reader to reader. Every book gets a chance to be discovered, enjoyed, and passed on again. And because books deserve a long life, passing them on means getting more out of the books we already have while using fewer resources to produce new ones.

Every book on HoppingBooks is free. You only pay the postage and a small maintenance fee to get it to you.

Then, when you're done, pass it on to the next reader. Who knows where your book will hop next?

How it works

  1. Browse

Every book on HoppingBooks is free. Browse, discover, and pick your next read.

  2. Request

Found one you like? Request it. You pay only the postage and a small maintenance fee. Up to 3 books from the same person can hop into the same parcel.

  3. Wish for it

The book you want has already hopped away? Tap “I want this book.” We'll put out the call to our community and email you the moment someone lists a copy.

  4. Add your books

Finished a book? Don't let it retire to the shelf. List it on HoppingBooks and send it on its next adventure. It costs you nothing — we'll email you a ready-to-print shipping label. HoppingBooks only lives as long as people give more than they take: a new account can request 3 books, and every book you pass on unlocks another.
