Provider identification under § 5 of the German Digital Services Act (DDG). Who runs HoppingBooks, how to reach us, and who is responsible for what is on the site. The German version is the one that counts in law.

Contact
By email at hello@hoppingbooks.com. We normally reply within two working days.
That address is also the single point of contact for users and for authorities under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act). We correspond in German and English.
Dispute resolution
The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025 (Regulation (EU) 2024/3228), so there is no longer a link to give. The Commission keeps a list of dispute resolution bodies in the member states.
We are not willing, and at this size not obliged, to take part in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board (§ 36 VSBG).
Liability for content
We are responsible for our own content under § 7(1) DDG and the general law. Under §§ 8 to 10 DDG we are not obliged to monitor what members post, or to look for signs of unlawful activity. The duty to remove unlawful content once we know about it is untouched by that — and it is what we do.
The books on HoppingBooks are listed by members themselves. If you see a listing that does not belong here, report it with the link on the book's page. Every report is read.
Liability for links
Where we link to other sites, we have no control over what is on them. Nothing was objectionable when the link was made; what appears there later is the responsibility of whoever runs that site. If we learn of an infringement, the link goes.
Copyright
The text, design and code of this site are protected by German copyright. Book covers and book data come from Open Library and Google Books and belong to their rights holders; photographs of books belong to the members who took them.
No unsolicited advertising
We object to the use of the contact details published here for sending advertising we did not ask for.
